A wave is transmitted from a sender to receiver. It has an amplitude of 6.8 cm, a time period of 0.01 seconds and the distance from a crest to the neighboring trough of 14.8 cm. By writing all necessary formulas and calculation steps, determine the frequency of this wave.

Answer: As we know that

v = d/t = 0.148m/0.01s = 14.8m/s

now

v = f l

so f = v/l

f = 14.8m/s

6.8m    = 2.18 Hz

Question No. 2                                                                                                                     (5 Marks)

Calculate the wavelength of a wave, having speed/velocity equal to 30,000 nm/s and frequency equal to 60 hertz.

Answer: As we know that

v = 30,000nm/s = 30,000*10-9m/s = 0.3*10-4m/s

v = f l

l = v/f

l = 0.3*10-4m/s

60Hz          = 0.005*10-4 = 5*10-7m
